FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the cost of an average shelter?
The cost of a shelter can fluctuate based on its location. Given that all materials are sourced locally, the cost per location also varies. For a detailed breakdown of the percentage of cost, kindly contact us today.
What is the size and square foot/meter of a shelter?
The dimensions of the shelter can be customized to suit your requirements. An average-sized Pai shelter, designated as size 1.0, has a footprint of 20 feet (6 meters, 10 centimeters) and an elevated wooden floor space of 192 square feet (17.86 square meters). This shelter can accommodate three to four individuals, as per the United Nations Shelter Standards (with variations considering climate and cultural factors).
How long does it take to build a shelter?
The average size shelter listed above, including the assembly of the floor, would require approximately 1.5 hours for four trained individuals to construct. It is important to note that there may be variations to this estimate, but this is an average that has been observed over the years.
Do you have to import any special material?
No, we exclusively utilize locally sourced materials in every shelter we construct. This is a deliberate decision on our part to contribute to the local economy’s growth.
Is the insulation adjustable?
Insulation is an easily adjustable component of the shelter. We have constructed shelters in challenging winter climates, rainy seasons, and desert heat.
Are building permit required?
In every country where we have built shelters thus far, building permits have not been necessary because the shelters are legally regarded as tents. Unless it is otherwise required, we do use a permanent foundations.
